The UK's Number One Epropulsion AND Torqeedo
Electric Outboard Motor Retailer
This website is all about small portable electric outboards. By that we mean electric outboard motors that are a genuine alternative to small petrol outboards – specifically not “trolling motors” for fishing (which are designed to push you along slightly slower than a lazy fish!).
By far the most popular segment in this market is the 1kW class – roughly equivalent (but not equal!) to 3hp – with integral lithium batteries. Their advantages are now so great that it is actually difficult to think of an argument in favour of a 2-3hp petrol outboard, other than price. Above that, electric motors in the 2 to 4kW range are also entirely viable, but the increased cost difference (mainly because of the batteries) means they remain relatively rare.
For the last two years we have been the UK's top dealer for both the main brands in this market: Torqeedo and Epropulsion. There are many similarities between these two electric outboards, but also some important differences. As we sell both we don’t have to push one over the other; we can tell you the advantages and disadvantages, and if you explain your application we can advise which model will suit you best.
Real-World Electric Outboard Motor Experience and Advice
We don’t just sell electric outboards, we use them – of choice – ourselves. So there is a lot of “real world” information on this site that you won’t find elsewhere, it’s not just regurgitated manufacturer splurge! If you have a few minutes, sit down with a cup of tea (or wine, beer, gin etc!) and have a good read.
Then if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or phone.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
